OK, so what is a Hussif? It’s the term given to the small sewing/repair kit that sailors and soldiers in days gone by used to take with them ‘on the road’. It’s thought to be derived from the word ‘Housewife’, which probably explains things better.
This pocket sized hussif is ideal for slipping into your suitcase or handbag (the latter not for when flying however!) and is made from Patchwork cotton and embellished with two bead embroidery stitches. A felt pocket/flap is for storing pins and needles – the pocket is to hold threads wrapped around a card bobbin. Another pocket is for storing scissors. All in all, everything needed for emergency repairs.
Kits will be available as and when fabric supplies are in stock – hopefully by mid January 2018!
